Abstract: There are fundamental differences between Chinese and Western family problems. In modern times, China has formed a
unique historical experience different from that of western society in criticizing and solving family problems. From the perspective of
Marxism, it is of great significance for the development of Marxist family values to explore the family problems in China and examine
the historical experience of China by demonstrating: a)the significance of family for civil society and country; b)the role of morality,
law, custom and other superstructures on the economic foundation; and c)the significance of family liberation and women's liberation
to human liberation.
